Maddie's Surgery

Maddie had a herniated belly button since she was a few weeks old. In the past month it had gotten really bad and her doctor sent us to see a pediatric surgeon. Usually a belly button hernia isn't much to worry about but both doctors were not able to push it back in and for it to stay in. She had surgery on March 31st and everything went very well. I stayed overnight with her and she was back to be a happy baby the next day. I took Maddie in for a check-up yesterday and her doctor said he was going to have to change his story that in his ten years as a pediatrican he had never seen a belly button hernia that needed immediate surgery. Maddie sure makes everyone's lives a little more interesting!
