We had another ultrasound yesterday and the doctor confirmed that it is a definitely a girl. Yeah! The doctors wanted to do an ultrasound of the baby's heart to make sure there were no problems. High sugar levels can cause heart defects. Because my sugars were more on the normal side when I got pregnant the doctor didn't think there would be anything wrong but it's good to know there isn't. I go back for a third ultrasound in six weeks to check on my amniotic fluid level. It's on the high side, a common thing with diabetes, and could explain why my water broke early with both boys.

These are kind of spooky to look at-- I've never really seen the
4-D ultrasounds before... it's so much more life-like and real! It will be crazy to see what she looks like in another months time for your next ultrasound!
