The First One

My best friend Jaime just started a blog that was inspired by a friend of hers who has one to keep in touch with out-of-town family and friends. So in turn Jaime has inspired me to start my own. I don't have many out-of-towners but thought if even to help me record events in the kids lives and pass time at work. So, to start, a little about myself. I have been married to my husband Rob since May 4th, 2002. We have two handsome sons. Ryan will be 5 in a week and is in afternoon kindergarden. He is a handful but I tell myself that's to be expected at his age. Aidan just turned 2 in April. He's a big boy. He had his 2-year visit last week and weighed in at 32 pounds and stood 36 1/2 inches tall. That's the exact same size his brother was at age 3. He's in speech therapy and is learning more every day. Rob and I are trying for the third child, hoping for a girl to even out the family a little. I work at the Milwaukee County Zoo and just celebrated 15 years there. My job has a lot of downtime and I use it to read and work on my obsession of collecting recipes. I love to bake and have made wedding cakes, birthday cakes and every kind of dessert. When I find and try new recipes I plan to post them here if only to help me keep track of them.
